'Pioneer Woman' Ree Drummond Shares Unearthed Photo From Her First Baby Shower in Honor of Daughter Alex Expecting

A photo taken years ago showing a young Ree Drummond attending a baby shower for her first child was recently unearthed by her daughter, Alex , as the 27-year-old took a walk down memory lane in anticipation of her own first baby shower.

In the photo, The Pioneer Woman host wore a red dress as she sat on an upholstered chair and paged through a children’s book. An open gift box sat on her lap as another woman crouched on the ground beside her, looking up at the gift the expecting mother had received.

The photo showed Ree, now 55, “at her baby shower when she was pregnant with me! ❤️,” Alex wrote when she shared the snapshot on Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

The Food Network star reshared her daughter’s post on Instagram Stories later Tuesday with a simple caption noting the way the photo captured the “Floral dress energy even in ’97.” A fan on X , formerly Twitter, shared a screenshot of Drummond’s post on the social media platform before the image disappeared from Instagram.

Alex, who is expecting her first child with husband Mauricio Scott , noted in another Instagram Stories post earlier Tuesday that she was “Rounding up old baby pics for my baby shower & dreaming about what bby girl will look like 🥹.” The excited couple announced their pregnancy in June and, a few days later, shared a sweet gender reveal video with their followers on social media.

Alex is the oldest child that Ree shares with her husband, Ladd Drummond . The two also share daughter Paige , 25, and sons Bryce , 22, Jamar , 21, and Todd , 20.

Alex and Mauricio’s child will make Ree and Ladd first-time grandparents. Though the TV personality told People back in June that she hadn’t “necessarily” been “in a big rush to enter the grandparent stage,” she was still “so happy” that her oldest daughter was preparing for such an exciting new time of her life.
