Michael Strahan Can't Keep It Together While Pranking Fox Sports Colleague Live on Air

Michael Strahan is a fan favorite on Fox NFL Sunday —and his reaction to a recent live on-air prank proves why.

In a video shared to Instagram on Sunday, Sept. 29, NFL insider Jay Glazer explained the premise of a joke the crew played on analyst and former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski . They asked "Gronk" his opinion on "Rich Russo," a non-existent Dallas Cowboys tight end with missing fingers.

“We decided to play a little joke on our buddy Gronk,” Glazer said. “He thought we were going live with an extra segment. Everybody at Fox knows this is not real—except for Gronk. And the premise was I was gonna break news that the Cowboys were activating this great Pro Bowl tight end, who doesn’t exist, and Gronk has to go on what he thinks is live TV, to talk about this tight end.”

In a clip from the segment, Gronkowski immediately looked perplexed when asked to rank Russo's performance, though he tried his best to cover his confusion.

"You know, he's been out for a little bit so he might be a little rusty coming back but I think they're going to give him the opportunities that's for sure," Gronkowski said as Strahan struggled to keep a straight face.

Gronkowski seemed relieved when he found out he was being pranked.

"Right when it was done I was going to say, 'Guys, I never heard of him before in my life,'" he admitted.

Viewers were highly amused by the practical joke, especially Strahan's inability to hold it together.

"😂 I love it, Gronk pretending he knew who you all were talking about 😂😂, poor Michael was trying so hard not to laugh 😂🤣," wrote one fan.

"Saw it on Fox today it was hilarious, the look on Michael’s face was priceless 😁😁," declared a second Instagram user.

"That's comedy GOLD!!!" raved another person.
