Taylor Swift Fans React to Man Destroying $4,000 Guitar in Bold Political Statement

Taylor Swift fans are raising their eyebrows at one obvious hater after he spent a small fortune on a guitar inspired by the singer just to destroy it.

In a video uploaded to TikTok , a white-haired man approached the front of what looked like a large warehouse with a grin. He then grabbed a hammer and a guitar—with a custom-made faceplate featuring imagery from Swift's Eras Tour with a pickguard made from an autographed Midnights photo card—from one of the auctioneers.

The winner attempted to destroy it with the tool before giving up, handing the hammer back and walking away with the damaged guitar in tow.

According to the uploader, he wasted $4,000 in what may have been a political statement in response to the singer's formal endorsement of Kamala Harris , as the caption included several pro-Donald Trump hashtags.

While he may have expected to rile Swifties up with the move, more than anything, they were left confused about the amount of money reportedly spent on, essentially, nothing.

"Imagine spending $4k on a guitar when there’s literally an emergency situation on the east coast," one replied to a repost of the video on X , referencing the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene . "That $4K could have help a lot of other people instead of some collector."

"Why didn't he give some of that cash to his poor neighbors who can't afford eggs and cereal," another questioned, referencing J.D. Vance's viral video discussing the supposedly exorbitant price of $4 per dozen eggs while standing in front of a sign advertising them for much less. "These are not serious people."

"I thought the economy was bad? People spending 4k on a guitar to destroy it is not something you do if you cannot afford groceries," another agreed.

The guitar was reported offered as part of the Ellis County Wildgame Dinner, a non-profit that supports agricultural education for local students. So the money does seem to have gone to a good cause.

Still, some fans couldn't help but laugh over how the man had been scammed by the auction.

The guitar was never signed by Swift herself, with someone gluing a cut-up signed CD insert—which automatically devalued it, at least in the eyes of the Swifties—to its body.
