Timothée Chalamet is making fans do a double-take as he parts from his signature dark curly hair and seamlessly transforms into another legendary character .

The 28-year-old actor was photographed in New York City on Monday, Sept. 30 looking like anyone but himself. Chalamet was on the set of the upcoming biographical drama film centered around the late iconic ping-pong player Marty Reisman.

In the new photos, Chalamet is rocking a navy blue sweater vest over a white button-up short-sleeve dress shirt paired with dark brown wide-leg trousers and dark brown boots. His stylist completed the character transformation with a pair of silver metal eyeglasses, a brown leather watch, a slicked-over side part and a freshly trimmed mustache.

The fictionalized sports biopic reportedly only started filming last week. Not much is known about the production spearheaded by director Josh Safdie ( Uncut Gems and Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God ), who also co-wrote the film with fellow Elara Pictures founder Ronald Bronstein ( Good Time and Heaven Knows What ).

While most of the movie details are still under wraps, the production company behind it, A24 ( Midsommar , Bodies Bodies Bodies , Lady Bird , Hereditary and Everything Everywhere All at Once ), previously teased a promotional image from the Chalamet-led film on Instagram. In July, the official social media account uploaded a black-and-white still image of a ping-pong ball emblazoned with the movie's title, three stars, as well as the phrase: "made in America."

An expected release date has not yet been made public, but considering production only started, it's going to be some time. As for what we do know, along with the Dune actor, Marty Supreme is also set to star Gwyneth Paltrow , Tyler, the Creator , Shark Tank 's Kevin O'Leary and Odessa A’zion , among several others.
