How to Clean Your Kitchen with Salt
Salt is ideal for scrubbing and removing stains because its abrasive texture helps you scour pots, pans and cutting boards without scratching delicate surfaces. Salt can also absorb grease and spills, and it can eliminate odors in sinks and garbage disposals when combined with other natural cleaning agents, like lemon and vinegar. Salt also has antibacterial properties, making it an eco-friendly option for cleaning.
Lynsey says she uses salt for unclogging drains , refreshing sponges and keeping cut flowers alive for longer, but the hack that I really needed to see was that she uses salt to deodorize her cutting boards .
I use wooden cutting boards and I'm always looking for all-natural ways to keep them clean and fresh. In her Instagram video, Lynsey sprinkles salt directly on her cutting board and uses a damp sponge to scrub it all over the board. Then, she just rinses it away.
