This week's episode of The Challenge 40 was all-around the increasingly shrinking pool of Era 1 players. Now sporting half the members of the other teams, the four old schoolers fought an uphill battle to stay out of elimination. Just when they thought they were granted a reprieve, more prominent friendships sent them into the sand once more, where their problems only got worse.

Who was eliminated on The Challenge 40 tonight?
Tina Barta
Tina made her return to the MTV version of The Challenge for the first time in 20 seasons and nearly 25 years, in the best shape of her life, as well as a locked-in ally in Rachel. Though Era 1's losing streak put Tina into elimination against Emily, she was able to pull off the upset against the former champ. When she became a target again by default and Era 1 didn't lose the daily, she thought the old schoolers would actually catch a break for once. Unfortunately, Nia's friendship with Nehemiah prevailed, prompting a furious response from Tina towards her and Jordan. Back in the sand, Tina could not repeat her performance, losing in elimination to Michele.
Darrell Taylor
The only player to ever win four Challenge seasons in a row, Darrell was eager to get a fifth and cement his status alongside the series GOATs. He was thrown for a loop when he volunteered as the first target, only to be sent into elimination. But he benefitted from the house's distrust towards Tony, as they helped lead Darrell to a win. After that, Darrell stayed characteristically quiet, except for a brief argument with Laurel with the latter made a comment about Emily massaging his back. Even when him and Tina were surprisingly sent into elimination, he focused on the goal in front of him: Beating Kyland. Unfortunately, history repeated itself, as Darrell once again lost a matchup to the new-schooler, eliminating him
Who won the daily challenge on The Challenge 40 tonight?
This week's daily was one of the biggest heights tasks in Challenge history, as the players leaped almost 900 feet off the ground to grab flags. By less than a minute, Era 3 took home the win, working like a well-oiled machine. Surprisingly, the last-place team was Era 4, as they struggled pulling up their first person in Josh.
