Ree Drummond’s daughter Alex provided a view of a home decorating change that she and her husband, Mauricio Scott , recently made in a Wednesday, Oct. 2, update on her life at home.
Alex, who is the oldest of The Pioneer Woman host’s five children at 27, posted the update—and several others— on Instagram Stories . In a photo posted Wednesday evening, Alex shared a view of the bedroom she and Mauricio share, with the focus of the snapshot on their new bedspread.

The “gorgeous dusty blue” duvet was a shift from the “crisp white bedding” that Alex explained she previously “looooved.” But sticking with white "quickly went out the window once we got George,” she explained, referring to their Golden Retriever.
Making that small home decorating switch has “been the best decision!” she gushed, later adding that the photo was not an ad for the bedding brand they chose, even if “I wish” it could have been.

Alex appeared to be making the most of her free time before the arrival of her first child. She and Mauricio announced their pregnancy back in June, and have provided updates in the months since about Alex’s journey as an expecting mother. The couple even shared an adorable gender reveal video with their Instagram followers in late June.
As Alex also revealed Wednesday on Instagram Stories, she recently took advantage of a warehouse sale hosted by one of the baby brands she follows on social media. She showed off all of the items she purchased, even flagging one infant swimsuit featuring a butterfly pattern that she predicted her mom “will love.”
Drummond, 55, will become a grandmother for the first time when Alex and Mauricio’s child arrives. The Food Network star previously noted that the baby is due sometime around the start of 2025. Alex referenced that timeline during one of her Instagram Story updates on Wednesday, noting that her baby isn’t expected to arrive in time for Christmas this year, “but we’ll see what happens.”
