Even celebrities get starstruck from time to time, and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is no different.

On a recent episode of The Tonight Show , the "Clocks" singer told Jimmy Fallon about how "trippy" it was to have Michael J. Fox join Coldplay onstage to play guitar on "Fix You" during their performance at the Glastonbury Festival in June.

“I think there are certain things for people your age and my age that are so imprinted on us in terms of what made us dream of doing this job. And one of those was Michael in Back to the Future ,” Martin said.

“It’s so trippy to me that we get to play with him. It just feels like being 7 and being in heaven, that’s what it feels like,” he added. “Of course, he’s so inspirational as a person and then he was Marty McFly.”

Since he's such a big fan of the film, it's no surprise that Martin made a Back to the Future joke when he welcomed Fox to the stage at Glastonbury, saying, "With his Chuck Berry riff, and the way he punched Biff, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Michael J. Fox.”

As Martin explained, Glastonbury wasn't actually the first time he played with Fox.

“The first time I played with him was at a charity show and I asked him if he could do the two songs from Back to the Future , and he was so sweet,” Martin said.

“And in the middle of 'Earth Angel,' he was doing this with me, he started looking at his hand like it was disappearing,” he continued, referencing the famous Back to the Future scene. "That hand disappearing, you know, it’s everything.”
