NBC Brings Together Emmy Winners for New Medical Comedy 'St. Denis Medical'

There's no shortage of hospital dramas on TV. But it's been a minute since we've had a noteworthy medical drama. (We miss you, Scrubs !) NBC is looking to change that with the new comedy St. Denis Medical , premiering in November. The show is one of two new NBC comedies premiering this fall, alongside Reba McEntire 's Happy Place .

Allison Tolman ( Fargo, Good Girls ) stars as Alex, the head nurse and devoted mom who struggles to maintain a work-life balance, especially when her co-workers consistently need her to step in for emergencies.

Wendi McLendon-Covey as Joyce

The Goldbergs star Wendi McLendon-Covey joins the cast as Joyce, the head of the hospital who wants to put St. Denis on the map. Her intentions are to bring success to the hospital, though her methods may not always be the best for her staff.

David Alan Grier as Ron

Ron (comic legend David Alan Grier ) is the most senior doctor at St. Denis Medical. He's like the patriarch of the staff, but his many years of experience have him feeling very cynical about the system and the hospital's ability to ever change.

Josh Lawson as Bruce

Bruce ( Josh Lawson ) is the resident hotshot doctor at St. Denis Medical. He is this universe's McDreamy, and he knows it. He's here to do impressive surgeries and do an incredible photoshoot about it afterward.

Kahyun Kim as Serena

Serena ( Kahyun Kim ) is a fellow nurse at St. Denis Medical and Alex's closest work buddy. She's good at her job, but doesn't let it control her life the way that Alex does.

Kaliko Kauahi as Val

Val ( Kaliko Kauahi ) is also a nurse at St. Denis Medical and is not afraid to tell anyone the truth, no matter how much they don't want to hear it.

Mekki Leeper as Matt

Matt ( Mekki Leeper ) is the new floor nurse at St. Denis. Although he is woefully bad at his job, he cares a lot and is determined to succeed as a medical professional.

St. Denis Medical premieres Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC with a special two-episode premiere. Viewers will be able to stream the episodes the next day on Peacock.
