We Tried the Viral 'Protein Diet Coke' That Fans Are Calling a 10/10

About a year ago, I started adding more protein into my diet and the fastest way for me to do that was to have a pre-made protein drink each morning. I like protein drinks, but I quickly learned that there's not a lot of variety with flavor. That's when I started looking for ways to make my protein drinks taste a little better, and I found a ton of great suggestions.
For example, you can mix in water flavoring sticks, like Liquid I.V. or Liquid Death, to give your protein drinks more hydrating power and some flavor. I chose A&W Root Beer flavor sticks to make my vanilla protein drinks taste like a root beer float, and it was absolutely delicious! The problem is that these powdered sticks can clump inside of the protein drink, so you have to shake them well or blend them to get all of the clumps out.
Leave it to the internet to solve all of my problems. This time, it's the Protein Diet Coke trend , which is making the rounds on my FYP. The drink took hold thanks in part to the popularity of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” show, which reminded everyone about the dirty soda trend (soda + coffee creamer).
This new version of dirty soda pairs Diet Coke and a vanilla protein shake and people are hyping it up. After seeing it a few times, including on @dzunglewis 's feed (she's one of my favorite follows), I knew I had to give it a try for myself.
This is simple: You need a cup of ice, a Diet Coke and your vanilla protein drink of choice. I used Premier Protein, but many of the online recipes use Fairlife. All you have to do is mix Diet Coke and your favorite vanilla protein drink together and you get a protein soda that is creamy and perfect for on-the-go. Just pour the soda and protein drink into a cup of ice and give it a swirl with a straw. That's it!
What Did I Think of the Protein Diet Coke?
When @dzunglewis tried the drink, she gave it a 9/10, but others have given this a 10/10 and I agree with them. I filled my glass half full with the protein drink, then topped it off with the Diet Coke and swirled it together and it was amazing! It tasted just like a Coke Float, and it gave me that fizzy carbonation I was missing with the powdered drink sticks.
The beauty of a drink like this is that you can use whatever soda you want. Diet Mt. Dew, Diet Dr. Pepper and even Diet Orange Crush are all great options, and if you don't care about the sugar or calories, you can use regular sodas, too. This one is definitely going on my rotation of morning or afternoon drinks to enjoy on my patio.
