Riley Keough is opening up about her mother Lisa Marie Presley 's experience of losing dad Elvis Presley when she was just a young girl.

Keough, who is a granddaughter to the late King of Rock 'n' Roll, recently sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey to talk about her famous family, and she revealed a haunting fact about the day Elvis died.

In a preview clip of the interview shared on Instagram, the Daisy Jones & the Six actress confirmed that Lisa Marie felt she knew "instinctively that something was off," the morning of Aug. 16, 1977, the day that her music legend father died at the age of 42.

Despite Lisa Marie being only 9 years old at the time, Keough, 35, said her mom had vivid memories about Elvis' death, which she recounted in detail for the "first time" while writing a memoir before her own death in January 2023 .

"She said goodnight to him and I think she knew [when] saying goodnight like she had some kind of sense [about his death]," Keough told Winfrey in the interview. "I think she had a sense many times that he wasn’t OK."

"She would tell me that sometimes she would find him in his bathroom looking kind of out of it or holding onto the railing to stand up straight," the actress recalled, adding that Lisa Marie also used to write letters predicting that something would happen to her dad.

"She used to write these letters when she was little kinda saying, ‘I hope my daddy doesn’t die," she told Winfrey. "So there was kind of a sense there."

The Under the Bridge star also added that Lisa Marie was living with Elvis at Graceland at the time of his death, and that they were they only two who were sleeping upstairs at the time.

"I think she got a lot of intimate time up there with him," she revealed.

Keough is expected to reveal even more about both Lisa Marie and Elvis in the tell-all interview, An Oprah Special: The Presleys—Elvis, Lisa Marie, and Riley , which airs Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. EST.

Releasing that same day is also Lisa Marie's memoir From Here to the Great Unknown , which Keough finished in the wake of her mother's death.
