Hoda Kotb is so grateful for all the love and support she's received since telling fans she would be leaving the Today show–and she wants to make sure they know it!

While chatting with Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon , Kotb made a point to share her appreciation for those who have reached out, either in person or online. The comments came after the comedian recalled his reaction to learning that the 60-year-old NBC morning show anchor would be leaving her usual spot on the Today show, joking that he "lost it."

"First of all, the favorite card that I got was from you," Kotb revealed in a clip from the recent episode. "And the card said, 'What the hell?' And it was a big bottle of wine with it," she recalled as Fallon cracked up behind her.

"You know what? I think I'm doing this, like re-potting thing. You know when you pull yourself up by the roots, and you're kind of dangling and you're like, 'Oh my god what am I doing? What's happening?' But you know you're going to land kind of in fertile ground?"

"And when I turned 60," the doting mom of two continued, "Something weird happened, man. I turned 60 and we had this beautiful party at the Today show and I looked out at the sea of all the people who came, and beautiful signs and so many well-wishes, and I knew in my heart, like this is it, man. This is what the top of the mountain must feel like."

To that, Fallon, 50, replied: "You're leaving on top."

Kotb revealed she would leave her spot as one of the NBC morning talk show's co-anchors sometime in early 2025 during the Sept. 26 broadcast, as Parade previously reported .

"I realized that it was time for me to turn the page at 60 , and to try something new," she said at the time. "I remembered standing outside looking at these beautiful bunch of people with these gorgeous signs, and I thought, 'This is what the top of the wave feels like for me.' And I thought it can't get better, and I decided that this is the right time for me to kind of move on."

As for what she plans to do next, Kotb previously teased : "Happily and gratefully, I plan to remain a part of the NBC family, the longest work relationship I’ve been lucky enough to hold close to my heart. I’ll be around. How could I not? Family is family and you all will always be a part of mine."
