The theme, which highlights Black men, is a groundbreaking jump for the Met Gala which has tended to skew toward a largely white and female audience.
The Costume Institute Benefit aka the Met Gala is held every year on the first Monday in May and draws an impressive crowd of A-listers in some of the most remarkable fashion looks of the year. With the 2025 theme, we're certain to see a larger list of Black celebrities walking the runway, including this year's co-chairs, all of whom are Black males (with the exception of Anna Wintour of course).
