If Hoda Kotb finds herself with too much time on her hands after retiring from Today , all she needs to do is give Chris Martin a call.

In a recent appearance on the morning show, the Coldplay frontman had a playful response for the host when she referenced Martin's announcement that his band will stop making music after their 12th  album—and it was all about a potential joint business venture.

"Aren't you retiring soon too?" Martin asked, to the sound of laughter from the audience. "I thought...Hoda, wait. I thought we had a deal that we were going to go into business together making cookies."

"OK, I'll do that," Kotb agreed.

"That's what you texted me," Martin joked, adding, "Are you backing out?"

"I would never back out," Kotb assured him.

On Instagram, fans made it clear that a Kotb/Martin cookie-making business would definitely be profitable—and some wanted in on the action.

"The best cookies ever 😍," wrote one person.

"I’ll bake cookies with you both!!!" gushed someone else.

"They could be the new Snoop + Martha !" declared a third Instagram user, with another person saying they "would be happy to bake cookies with Chris Martin all day."

On Thursday, Sept. 26, Kotb announced her impending departure from Today , a decision she said she made during her 60th birthday celebration.

"I realized that it was time for me to turn the page at 60, and to try something new," she said.

"I remembered standing outside looking at these beautiful bunch of people with these gorgeous signs, and I thought, 'This is what the top of the wave feels like for me," Kotb continued. "And I thought it can't get better, and I decided that this is the right time for me to kind of move on."
