Cheryl Hines Shares Strong Opinion on Husband Robert F. Kennedy Jr. After His Mom’s Death

As Robert F. Kennedy Jr. grieves the death of his mother, Ethel Kennedy , his wife, Cheryl Hines , is also mourning the loss and shared a bold reminder.

On Thursday, the Kennedy family matriarch passed away at the age of 96. Both Hines and her husband of nearly a decade paid tribute to Ethel's life and legacy in a set of emotional and lengthy social media posts.

In response to the one shared on X (formerly Twitter) by the 70-year-old politician, Cheryl penned an emotional message with a touching opinion. "Your mother was very proud of you, Bobby," she wrote .

In her own tribute , the Curb Your Enthusiasm actress said, "It has been my great honor to have shared laughter and love with Ethel. Her charisma, wisdom and strength will live on with me in every memory of her."

"She always made me laugh. She was never too serious except when she needed to be. She dressed to nines with bare feet. She will be missed," Cheryl, 59, added in part. "My love is with the family."

As Parade previously reported, Ethel passed away from complications related to a recent stroke she suffered.

"It is with our hearts full of love that we announce the passing of our mother, Ethel Kennedy. She died this morning from complications related to a stroke suffered last week," the family said in an Oct. 10 statement published on the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights website, the nonprofit she co-founded in 1968.

"Along with a lifetime’s work in social justice and human rights, our mother leaves behind nine children, 34 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom love her dearly. She was a devout Catholic and a daily communicant, and we are comforted in knowing she is reunited with the love of her life, our father, Robert F. Kennedy ; her children David and Michael ; her daughter-in-law Mary ; her grandchildren Maeve and Saoirse ; and her great-grandchildren Gideon and Josie ," it continued, concluding: "Please keep our mother in your hearts and prayers."
