Watch out Barbra Streisand ! There’ a new voice in town who performs a killer version of “The Way We Were” on Monday night’s The Voice —and Parade has an exclusive first look.

It just took one note and Cameron Wright (they/them) from Minneapolis, MN, got two chair turns—one from Gwen Stefani and the other from Michael Bubl é —and it was just a few notes later that Reba McEntire and Snoop Dogg also hit their buttons, adding Cameron to the select list of four-chair turns for this season.

Even though she wasn’t first to turn, Reba jumped in to get in the first pitch for Cameron, telling them, “That was spectacular. One of my favorite songs and you sang the heck out of it. This ain’t your first rodeo, is it?”

Cameron replied, “No it’s not. I’ve been singing professionally since I was 5.”

“What were you doing at 5 years old singing?” Reba wanted to know.

Cameron explained, “My mother’s a professional gospel singer and she threw me on the stage and made me sing, yes, 'Jesus Loves Me.'”

Reba then went on to tell Cameron about her own experience with the song.

“When I was 5 years old, I was in Cheyenne, Wyo., and cowboys were getting everybody out to sing,” she said. “My brother got up and sang, ‘You Ain’t Nothing But a Hound Dog,’ and they gave him a quarter. I said, ‘I’ll sing one.’ I got up and sang, 'Jesus Loves Me,' and they gave me a nickel. Ain’t that the way it goes? Cameron, thank you for sharing your gift with us.”

Then it was Gwen’s turn to try to woo Cameron to her team.

She said, “You just came in and sliced the air out of the room. Not one moment wasn’t perfect the way you sang that. It’s insane. It’s inspiring to be around people like you that are so gifted. I would love to have you on Team Gwen. It’s going to be so fun to watch you.”

Next to pitch was Michael, who said. “I love this show. Cameron, you have a beautiful voice, but my favorite part about you is that God gave you a light that pours out of you and you can’t buy it, you can’t bottle it. I would love to be your coach, but no matter which one of us you choose, I am genuinely going to love every second of watching you go to the finals.”

And finally, it was Snoop’s turn to persuade Cameron to pick Team Snoop.

“Cam, Cam, what’s happening?” the owner of Death Row Records said. “I’m going to be honest with you, I’m not looking for somebody who already has it all, but I think there’s a few things in my toolbox that I can give you to get you all the way over the hump. I would love to have you on Team Snoop. I mean it.”

Then Michael, in hopes of bonding with Cameron, said, “I hope you do some incredible gospel number that lifts this whole place up.”

But that turned out to work against him, because Snoop pointed out, “When it comes to gospel, hello, praise God. Can I get a witness?”

Will that gospel connection between Cameron and Snoop be what tips the choice in his favor?

Tune in on Monday night to find out who Cameron selects as his coach.

The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
