Bath & Body Works is attempting to do some damage control after a candle it recently promoted on social media was deemed problematic in its design.

The candle, entitled "Snowed In," features a red jar with a white paper snowflake design which, as many have pointed out, appears to bears a striking resemblance to the white hoods worn by members of the KKK, an American white supremacist terrorist group.

Since fans online noticed the offensive design, Bath & Body works has pulled the candle from their website and issued a statement to apologize for the oversight.

A rep from Bath & Body Works told TMZ that the company is "committed to fixing any mistakes we make—even those that are unintentional like this one."

"We apologize to anyone we’ve offended and are swiftly working to have this item removed and [are] evaluating our process [going] forward."

But many users on the internet still wanted to know how the design got approved in the first place.

"Dozens of people had to approve this before it went to market. Not ONE of them noticed this?" one user on Instagram asked, while another person called it "beyond unacceptable" that the candle was ever listed for sale with that design.

"And this is what happens when you remove DEI [Diversity, Equity & Inclusion] efforts in leadership," someone else pointed out.

According to the Instagram page Diet Prada , a Bath & Body Works employee took to Reddit to share an internal memo to retail employees with step-by-step instructions on how to discard the problematic product by removing the label and disposing of the candle in an opaque bag.

After seeing a screenshot of the apparent memo with instructions, tons of people became even further frustrated over the waste that the design blunder has now created.

"at the very least they could donate them somewhereÂ đŸ˜©" one person pointed out.
