Richard Karn is perhaps best known for his role as Al Borland in the hit ‘90s sitcom Home Improvement , or maybe you know him from his hosting gig on Family Feud from 2002 to 2006.

However, a new photo has surfaced of the actor, 68, that some say makes him look unrecognizable.

The Pen15 star was spotted out and about in Los Angeles earlier this month looking more svelte than television audiences are used to seeing him. Add in some graying hair and a mostly white beard, and he looks very different from what fans have seen in the past.

In a photo snapped in a grocery store parking lot that was obtained by Daily Mail , Karn can be seen wearing a multi-colored polo shirt, navy blue shorts, and gray slip-on sneakers. He had a pair of sunglasses hanging around his neck as he made a phone call on his cell.

According to Karn’s IMDb page , his latest project was a 2023 stint on the series Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction . According to the show’s synopsis, “Five mysterious stories are shown in which people meet strange or unexplainable events. The viewer is invited to decide if the stories are fact or fiction.”

He also completed production for the comedy television series Once a Mormon where he plays “Nascar,” and is currently in production for two more projects, A Unified Theory of Love and Eastern Market .

In 2022 , he reunited with Home Improvement co-star Tim Allen in More Power , a History Channel docuseries celebrating the evolution of tools.
