Sprite is getting into the holiday spirit with its newest flavor and fans are here for it.

The Coca-Cola-owned brand’s new flavor, which will be available in both regular and zero sugar varieties, combines its classic crisp citrus flavor with vanilla, invoking the season with a hint of baked goods.

Food blogger SnackGator revealed the new flavor on Instagram, letting fans know that Sprite Vanilla Frost will hit Kroger shelves beginning in December, but could expand to other retailers later in the winter.

Fans were on board with the offering, commenting “ok I love this and I will try it✌🏾.” Another chimed in, sharing that they “definitely wanna try this. I want to see how the vanilla is gonna mix with the lemon lime.”

“Sprite going hard lately,” said one commenter, with another teasing “I now have a reason to live. Thank you baby Jesus.”

Others lamented the new flavor’s limited availability, writing “Sprite vanilla is my favorite! It better come to non kroger stores 😭😭😭.” Kroger currently has stores in 35 states across the country.

“The sprite chill has been one of my favorites - can’t wait to try this one!” wrote one fan, referencing the limited-edition Sprite Chill flavor that came out earlier this year. A press release shared with Parade indicated that the twist on the classic cherry-lime pairing took advantage of “a proprietary blend of cooling agents to deliver a uniquely elevated sensory experience.”

While mint is often used to create a cooling sensation in food, Coca-Cola's R&D team was able to achieve it without mint through several rounds of development and testing.

Felicity Boucetla , the senior director of product development for sparkling flavors, said in a statement that “consumers today are looking for multisensorial beverage experiences, so we saw a unique opportunity to elevate the crisp, refreshing taste Sprite fans expect with a first-of-its-kind cooling sensation.”
