Jamie Foxx couldn't have had a better return to the stage after almost two decades and a scary medical emergency.

A week after the 56-year-old appeared on stage for the first time in 18 years—a moment that he said filled him with "nothing but pure joy"—Foxx took to his Instagram grid with a few meaningful photos and a poignant message.

"God is good…. As I post these pictures, my heart and my soul is filled with nothing but pure joy…" he began in the accompanying caption of his Sunday, Oct. 13, upload . "On October 3 fourth and fifth I had an opportunity to tell my side of the story and there was no better place than Atlanta Georgia."

"I have to thank you Atlanta you showed up and you showed out, I haven’t been on stage in 18 years but I needed the stage and I needed an audience that was made up of nothing but pure love and that’s what you were. When people ask me is this a stand up comedy show I say no it’s an artistic explanation. Of some thing that went terribly wrong," he added.

"But thanks to the great people in Atlanta," he continued, sharing a special shoutout to the team of medical professionals that helped him heal, "especially piedmont hospital you enabled me to come back and be on stage and do what I love to do the most… #nobaddays as my guy James would say #secondchance ❤️❤️❤️🍑🍑🍑."

"thank you ATLANTA #swipeleft," the moving statement concluded.

Some of the photos in the carousel captured emotional moments the movie star had on stage, with one featuring his 16-year-old daughter, Anelise .

As Parade previously reported, Foxx only recently offered more details about the mysterious health scare he suffered in the spring of 2023. The Collateral actor explained in the video shared via X that after experiencing a bad headache on April 11, 2023, he asked a friend for Advil. He then said he woke up weeks later with no memory of what happened.

“I was gone for 20 days,” Foxx said in the July 2024 clip, adding that he does not “remember anything.”

His recent statements are a stark contrast to previous comments about his experience, telling his Instagram followers only a few months after coming out of the terrifying medical emergency that he didn't plan to go public with detailed information about his hospitalization or share any in-depth updates.

"I went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through. And I know a lot of people were waiting or wanted to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn't want you to see me like that, man," Foxx continued at the time, "I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke , doing a movie , television show...I didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through."
