Salma Hayek's Alleged Confrontation With Nicole Kidman Raises Eyebrows After New Video Goes Viral

A video of Salma Hayek and Nicole Kidman having a seemingly tense interaction while attending a recent fashion show is going viral, with fans speculating about a possible rift—but not everybody thinks the actresses have beef.

In a clip shared to TikTok , Hayek, 58, and Kidman, 57,  posed for photographers alongside Katy Perry at the Paris Balenciaga show. Hayek appeared to try and turn Kidman around for the cameras—and while turning, Kidman seemed to brush Hayek's hand away, though this action might not have been intentional.

Kidman then greeted Perry with a hug and chatted with both women for another minute before moving on, leaving Hayek to pose with her husband, François-Henri Pinault , the CEO of Balenciaga's parent company Kering, and Perry.

TikTok users were quick to scrutinize the celebrity encounter in the comments.

"Something happened but I don't know whose side to be on!" wrote one person.

"who else saw Nicole Kidman move Salma Hayek's hand," someone else wanted to know.

"At the end Selma says 'yes please, that's fine'. What went down, the energy was offfffff," another TikTok user pointed out.

However, body language expert Judi James told the Daily Mail that what happened in the video might simply have been a "Devil Wears Prada lesson in status signals."

"Paris fashion week shows are a hot-mess combo of rarefied, super-A-list air and the sweaty lower levels of a rugby scrum," James said.

"Keeping your dignity and maintaining impeccable elegance while being jostled and made to wait for what can often be hours are necessary skills, and Nicole Kidman offers what looks like a masterclass here in protecting A-list parameters and status signals against all odds," she continued, adding, "This body language looks like a subliminal etiquette issue, based on fashion house 'rules' that are possibly as complex as the Da Vinci Code."

"Nicole seems to be posing happily with her friend Salma, placing a polite arm round her shoulders while keeping their torsos apart. The problem might possibly first arise when Nicole then turns (with her hair covering her face from the cameras) to have a more personal-looking friendly chat to Salma, who is still working the pose," James explained.
