Fans Declare Denzel Washington Is 'Made of Gold' After Interaction With Kid Reporter Goes Viral

He might be a legend, but Denzel Washington recently proved he's never too busy for his youngest fans.

In a video shared to Instagram last month that's since gone viral for all the right reasons, the 69-year-old Oscar winner stopped for an interview with 8-year-old Liam the Kid Reporter from Virgin Radio's Daryn & Deepa show while attending the premiere of The Last Piano at the Toronto Film Festival.

In the clip, Washington paused as he walked past reporters when he saw the little boy and took the mic, asking, "What do you want to know?"

"Hi, I’m Liam. I’ve heard American Gangster is a good movie. How can I be a Canadian gangster?" Liam asked.

"You shouldn’t be a gangster. You’re too smart to be a gangster," Washington said, adding, "What’s your favorite subject? Math? Math and science?"

When Liam nodded, Washington asked him if he wanted to be a doctor. The young reporter again answered in the affirmative.

"It’s better to be a doctor than a gangster," Washington agreed. "Okay? Never want to be a gangster."

"I know, I don't like it," Liam admitted.

"I don't like gangsters either," Washington said with a smile.
