Former 'Star Wars' Child Star Looks Unrecognizable During Rare Casual Outing

Former child star Jake Lloyd , who most people know as young Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars : Episode I - The Phantom Menace , took a walk for a smoke break recently, looking unrecognizable in rare photos from the outing.

The 35-year-old, who reportedly hasn't been publicly photographed in more than a year according to TMZ , wore a Captain America shirt and tan pants as he listened to music and smoked an electronic cigarette. He had short hair and sported an impressive mustache and beard.

Lloyd was seen in Los Angeles, stopping by his local gym and recycling boxes during a nice day out. The new sighting comes months after his mother, Lisa Lloyd , reported that he was receiving treatment at a mental health facility back in March.

The former actor's mother shared that Lloyd was previously diagnosed with schizophrenia and struggled with his mental health in 2023, leading to a long-term stay at a treatment facility.

In March of this year, Lisa noted that her son was "doing much better than I expected," before adding, "He is relating to people better and becoming a little bit more social, which is really nice." She said that he had a few months left in his program.

It's unclear how the rest of his reported treatment went and how Lloyd is currently feeling in terms of his mental and physical health.

Lloyd broke into acting at a young age, getting cast as a young Skywalker in the 1999 Star Wars film when he was only 8. After the film came out, Lloyd didn't stick with acting for very long, choosing to retire soon afterward.
