Elisabeth Finch , the infamous ex- Grey's Anatomy consulting producer who practically became a household name after Vanity Fair published a scathing, two-part exposé about her laundry list of lies, has finally broken her silence on the scandal.

Finch took to Instagram in the wake of Peacock's new docuseries, Anatomy of Lies , which further details the jaw-dropping smokescreens constructed by the disgraced screenwriter, to apologize for the "damage" caused by her actions.

In a lengthy statement, she acknowledged that she's "given no one any reason to believe a word [she] say[s]," before admitting to the fact that she "lied about so much" and "devastated" people she knew in "real life," thanks to what she called an "addiction of lies."

"'I'm sorry' feels like the smallest words compared to what I've done, yet they are the truest," she wrote, reporting that she's "making amends and expressing...genuine remorse as best [she] can."

Finch has also "accepted the fact that some" amends may never be made, admitting that there "is no excuse, no justification" that can "make [her] lies okay [or] erase the trauma" she inflicted.

"Nothing matters more to me than holding myself accountable in every way," she claimed, revealing that she's spent the past three years "receiving mental health treatment."

"I will continue to repair whatever damage I can and ensure I am not the worst things I've done," she said, concluding with, "I will work and wait as long as it takes."

According to Peacock's docuseries, Finch got her job on the long-running surgical drama by lying about having terminal chondrosarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer. She shaved her head, wore a scarf, and attached a fake chemotherapy port to her chest to keep up the ruse.

She went on to lie about being sexually harassed by an unnamed director on The Vampire Diaries when she wrote on that series and lied about known victims of the 2018 Tree of Life massacre—also claiming to travel to Pittsburg to help clean up the victims' remains—and alleged that her brother abused her as children before claiming he died by suicide while she was working on the show (according to Anatomy of Lies , he is still alive).

All three parts of Anatomy of Lies are available to stream on Peacock.
