The very first winner of the $100,000 grand prize on Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity is Aarti Garg , based in Cerritos, Calif. Her mom and brother, Subodh Garg , were present in the audience during her episode.

Garg chose Singh as the first celebrity with whom to compete thanks to their shared Indian American heritage. Singh introduced herself to Garg's mother and joked that she was the only person onstage to pronounce Aarti's name perfectly.

Who is Aarti Garg from Love on the Spectrum ?
Aarti Garg may look familiar to some viewers because she previously appeared in the Netflix reality series Love on the Spectrum with her brother Subodh Garg. One of those viewers is Glaser, who gushed about Aarti onstage on Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity .

"I know you and your brother and your mom from Love on the Spectrum , my favorite show of all time," Glaser said, adding, "I really want you to go all the way." Aarti invited Glaser for an Indian family dinner whenever she wants to attend. (Glaser later went on to help Aarti win with the final question, responding with Kitty Hawk to a question about the North Carolina beach town from which the Wright Brothers took their first flight.)
Subodh lives with Aarti, and in a joint interview in 2023 , he admitted he'd rather cohabit with his then-girlfriend Katina.
In the same interview, Subodh revealed that he was going to college to get another degree.
"He's going to work and go to school. It's going to take some time but our family never imagined that he'd be going to college," Aarti gushed. "It's really incredible."

Aarti is an accountant and auditor who works in the Garg family business, and in her Instagram profile, also describes herself as a digital creator.
On Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity , she started with the "First Grade Mathematics" category, noting that her experience as an accountant inspired the choice.
Aarti loves traveling, trivia, salsa dancing, animals and nature. She speaks English and Spanish fluently, as well as Hindi and some French, the latter of which she learned in high school. She grew up doing traditional Indian dance and studied other forms in high school and college, including country line dancing.
