As a mom with six kids, I do a lot of cooking and we have a lot of leftovers , which means I use food storage containers almost daily. While they're great for holding what you didn't eat for dinner , storing them can be a pain because they often come in various sizes, leading to a cluttered and disorganized cabinet or pantry . Lids can get lost or mismatched, and the containers may not stack neatly, which causes me to spend a lot of time looking for the right bowl and the right lid at the right time.

It can get frustrating and I have spent way too much time looking for storage containers for my leftovers when I would have much rather been relaxing with a book or my favorite TV show.

Recently, I got fed up with the chaos of my storage container cabinet and threw them all in a large canvas bin with the lids in another bin, but then one hack on TikTok has me rethinking my method. Pure Wow shared this trick and I'll be putting it to use immediately.

Instead of searching for lids, they say to put the lid on your storage container and then place the containers vertically (like books) in a large plastic bin. It's see-through so you can see what container is in it, the lid stays with the container, and you can store containers of the same size together so that it's easier to find the one you want or need.

In the comments section of this video, a few people said that it would be a good idea to stack the containers, no lids, and store them in a large bin, but then place the lids in another bin so that you can have more space. If you're like me and you have a lot of storage containers, this is a great idea, too, because it saves space and allows you to put different containers of different sizes together without a lot of mess.

Which option would work best in your kitchen?
