For most of us, hosting during the holidays means stocking up on paper plates, plasticware, styrofoam to-go containers, cups and even napkins to avoid doing any extra dishes. You already spend so much time cooking an elaborate meal and cleaning up afterward. Who wants to even think about busting suds or scraping the remains of mashed potatoes off of real plates after all the guests have retired to their respective corners for the evening? Doesn’t sound like our idea of a jolly good time, but you do you, bestie.
Of course, when we take a step back and picture our ideal holiday tablescape, paper plates are nowhere to be found. Instead, we dream of elegant porcelain plates gilded with gold leaves and intricate whimsical etchings. And if we’re being honest, how much scrubbing do you really have to do if the plates are licked clean? We might be more open to the idea of beautiful stoneware plates after all, and if Target has anything to say about it, then their latest Christmas -ready holiday find might be just the final nudge we needed.
The most beautiful bright red Stoneware Holiday Plates by Threshold made their way to Target stores, and we are obsessed with the stunning tabletop additions. These 7-inch round plates feature a curvy inscription of the word “Merry” in the center, and the high contrast of the white words and the deep red of the plate really make the whole thing sing. The plate is finished with a high gloss, really elevating the overall simple look to the classiest of aesthetics. Not only are these plates gorgeous on their own, but they would look just as fantastic on top of a coordinating charger to really drive home the luxurious look.
Even better than their look is the jaw dropping price of just $3 for this holiday decor must-have. At that price, you could pick up enough for all your guests and a few extras in case any break or crack during use. If you’re still not convinced, the plates are also microwave and dishwasher safe, so cleanup after dinner won’t even require more than a rinse and load. On second thought—maybe we’ll skip the paper plates this year and grab these instead. We’ll make sure to grab a few storage containers as backup, though, just in case.
