Slaton, 38, said she “kind of felt amazing” as she sat behind the wheel, an experience that is all new to her. But as she and her brother zoomed around, she had some difficulty navigating a turn and nearly crashed into a tree.

“You got to use the break pedal in time,” Chris explained as he guided her back onto the path they’d been following before their near accident.

“It’s scary still,” the TLC star said in an on-camera interview after her driving experience. “But I just have to remember to breathe and not panic. Especially when there’s a tree coming,” she added with a laugh.

Though Slaton appeared to be on her way with handling the golf cart, she didn’t seem quite so sure that she’d be ready to get behind the wheel of a car anytime soon.

“I’m proud of myself. I’m glad I chose to drive today,” she said. “But as far as a car right now, that’s kind of stretching it.”

When Slaton quipped to Chris that she might need “a couple more” years before she’ll be ready to hit the road for real, he seemed disappointed.

“We ain’t got years,” he told his sister. “We need to have your license so you can do whatever you want.”

The preview clip ended with an on-camera interview with Chris, who wondered aloud why Slaton seemed disinterested in taking the necessary steps to obtain a driver’s license of her own.

“She knows how frustrating it is, waiting and calling people for rides,” he said before coming to a realization. “Maybe it’s the fear of not needing somebody,” he suggested. “She went from basically a bedridden person that gets waited on hand and foot to somebody that’s able to go do anything they want. And being able to drive is the last part of the puzzle.”

The new episode is scheduled to air at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

I felt sorry for her that riding lawn mower wasn't a good idea to teach her should of used a golf cart. It wouldn't have been so scary.
