‘Sparkling’ New Dr Pepper Flavor to Launch This Winter

Dirty sodas are all the rage right now—from the popularity of TikTokers showing off their favorite creations to their ubiquity in the viral reality show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives , combining soft drinks with flavor syrups and cream is the drink trend of the moment.

Now, Sonic is getting in on the action and giving a “merry makeover” to its Flavorista Favorites with a holiday twist.

Sonic shared with Parade that it is launching two new flavors starting on Nov. 4, a Buttery Brew and the Sparkling Sugar Cookie Dr Pepper. The buttery brew may sound familiar to dirty soda fans, as the combination of root beer with caramel and sweet cream is reminiscent of popular blends.

The other flavor is a bit more complex, combining “Dr Pepper with hints of caramel and sugar cookie, all topped with a luscious layer of sweet cream.”

It should be noted that the Flavorista Favorites beverage lineup is only available in-app.

One TikTok user, who appears to work at a Sonic, previewed both drinks on the social media app and gave her honest review.

The self-proclaimed “Dr. Pepper girlie” said the sugar cookie drink is “really, really sweet” and gave it an eight out of ten but then noted that she hadn’t stopped drinking it the whole time.

She then tried the buttery brew, which she prefaced by saying that she “didn’t know” how she felt about it before tasting it. But after she tried it, she gave it a solid ten out of ten, saying that even though she’s “so picky” she really liked it.

One commenter was so inspired by the review that they said they were “making a sonic stop today it looks like. Wasn’t planning on leaving my house but the sugar cookie Dr Pepper is a must.🥰,” while another echoed the sentiment, writing that they were “Running to Sonic 🏃🏻‍♀️.”
