Dog toys are getting pricey these days, it's kind of crazy. You can easily find yourself paying anywhere from $10-$20 for one toy - and sometimes more if you have a serious chewer. While we all want our dogs to be happy and have toys, it's getting harder!

Thank goodness for Dollar Tree: they're helping take us back to the basics. On Wednesday, May 15th, one TikToker took us inside to see the new line of toys. Not only are they adorable, but they're wonderfully affordable! You have to see it:

All Things Dollar Tree is an angel for putting everyone onto these! They're perfect!

There are a couple of candy toys to choose from:

    1. York Peppermint Patties
    2. Hershey's Milk Chocolates
    3. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
    4. Hershey's Kisses

Though the York Peppermint Patties and the Hershey's Milk Chocolate toys were the only ones available in this TikToker's store, the website states that the selection may vary from store to store, so you may be able to find different candies at your store! If anyone finds a Skittles one, I need to know immediately. I'd pay way more than $1.25 for that!

These dog toys are made of vinyl, and they squeak . They may not be the best if you have a particularly determined chewer, but they'll at least have fun tearing it apart. For less than $2, it's worth a try!

Are 'Cheap' Toys Safe for Dogs?

There are some pet parents who don't discriminate when it comes to what toys their pups are playing with, while others want to make sure everything is good quality. There's nothing wrong with either approach, but there definitely is something to be said about investing in quality dog toys .

The main concern people have about dollar-store pet toys is the quality; they worry that they're laden with chemicals that could make a dog sick. All plastic toys are typically somewhat "dangerous" for dogs, and it's true that lower-quality plastic toys contain more phthalates or BPA than higher quality ones, which can cause issues over time. This line of toys has no reported issues!

Another issue is quality: toys made with cheaper materials are more susceptible to wear-and-tear. You'd want to supervise play with a toy like this to make sure that it doesn't end up in their tummies, or else you're spending lots of money on vet bills. However, for small dogs or dogs that aren't avid chewers , toys like these precious little candies are a great affordable option, especially in a pinch!
