Bored Maine Coon Kitten Has Zero Interest in Delicious Pup Cup

There are treats we love, and ones we don't like that much. It's important to have boundaries, even if it means turning down a little treat. Remember, it's not a treat if you don't love it!

For one Maine Coon kitten on Sunday, August 4th, it was easy to refuse a treat he really didn't want that much; a pup cup. While other furry friends might go absolutely bonkers over that, he knew he was too good for it, and he wasn't willing to settle:

Meatball the Maine Coon knows what he wants, and what he wants is a meat treat. Not a sweet treat - obviously, those are for losers.

Meatball is a little bit of a diva. Most Maine Coons are: they're gorgeous and they know it. Meatball was probably the prettiest pet to visit Starbucks that day, and of those pretty pets, he was probably the only one of them all to turn down a pup cup.

He's just not a sweets guy, and that's totally cool; a lot of cats don't love sweets. They favor things like tiny chunks of meat, meat-flavored treat, and those savory "cat Go-Gurts," which is just cat-friendly yogurt in a tube. If they had some light salmon foam, I bet Meatball would've gobbled it right up!

    Cats Don't Digest Dairy Well

Honestly, Mr. Meatball turning down his pup cup was probably for the best. Most cats are actually lactose intolerant and don't process dairy well, so it could've led to some serious tummy troubles for him. Additionally, Starbucks' whipped cream is sweetened (because it's meant for human consumption) and that's not the best, either.

If your cat is interested in a pup cup, you can go ahead and let them have a little taste. It's okay! However, there are better treats out there, especially when it comes to "fast food" joints. You could try feeding them fast food treats like:

    1. A grilled or peeled nugget (with the breading peeled off).
    2. A few apple slices.
    3. A piece of a hamburger patty (with nothing on it).
    4. A little bit of a slice of cheese.
    5. The filet from a fish sandwich (with no breading).

The batter/breading is often what gives pets trouble when it's time for a fast food treat: they may contain spices that can irritate their sensitive stomachs, and even if you get them something not breaded, it's usually pretty salty. Just like Meatball was when his mom offered him this subpar treat!
