When dogs have a bad day, they'll let you know. For example, Moose the Chocolate Labrador is having a moment and would really appreciate it if Mom would leave him alone until he feels happier.

The hilarious TikTok video shared by @melandmoose on August 3 shows Moose in an absolute mood that Mom can't talk him out of. Take a look at the sass!

"The side eye with his crabbies," the caption reads. In the minute-long video, Moose can be seen sitting on the couch like a human.

"Do you want to tell everybody why you have crabbies today?" Mom asks him. The answer seems to be that the tired pup went for a 2.5-mile walk that morning—at his request—then had a bath, which seems to be the reason for his bad mood. She reminds him that he got some chicken afterward, but he's not amused in the least bit.

"It was not so bad," she says. He responds by tipping all the way over as if to tell her, "Enough talking!" Mom laughs, resigning, "Well, I guess it is just so bad,"

The clip already has more than 625,000 likes and thousands of comments with many relating to Moose's mood.

"He just worked a double and is not in the mood, Karen," another person joked. "The seriousness. The side-eye. The body tossing at the end. He’s over it," another noted. You almost had him at 'chicken', but then he remembered he's mad at you for the bath," another added.

Moose is a total vibe with this one, and we love him for it!

Do Dogs Have Moods Like Humans?

Alright, so Moose may have just had a long day and needs a day to decompress, but do dogs actually have mood swings the way humans do? It seems they do, but not all emotions. East Valley Animal Hospital says dogs are capable of expressing emotions such as:

    • Fear
    • Anger
    • Disgust
    • Joy
    • Sadness
    • Excitement
    • Distress
    • Contentment
    • Anxiety
    • Shyness
    • Anticipation
    • Love

These feelings are responses to hormones like dopamine, adrenaline, and oxytocin. For example, when you pet your dog or do something that bonds the two of you, the happy-boosting oxytocin is released, making them feel content and secure.

However, despite how they may act after getting in trouble for something, dogs aren't capable of feeling guilt, shame, pride, or contempt. What you're actually seeing is their fear response kicking in because they've learned you're mad and expect punishment (i.e. fear!). They're way too smart!

All of this to say, sweet Moose is more than capable of having the cabbies just as much as he can swing right into a good mood. The moral of this story? Stay on Moose's good side until the crabbies subside!
