Belgian Malinois are unique because of their intelligence, agility, and high energy levels. While they may not suit everyone, those who have them are adept at embracing and making the most of their lively personalities.
So when it was time to celebrate this handsome guy’s birthday, his parents knew how to make his day special. See how this spirited fellow enjoyed his party in this video from August 3:
What a terrific idea for any fun-loving dog! Crash (@ k9crashbuddy ) was celebrating his fifth birthday, and his parents ensured it was an excitement-filled day. In the afternoon, they met some friends in the park, and that’s when it was time for him to tear into his birthday piñata. What a time he had! He did a number on the colorful cardboard donkey, ripping every bit to shreds. In fact, he was less interested in all the balls inside, so next year, his mom revealed they might not even fill it at all. However, once this cardboard is gone, he will have plenty of fun with those many balls. With a dog with such energy and intelligence, keeping them busy is always a priority.

Ideas for Tiring High-Energy Dogs
While many dogs can be considered high-energy breeds, Malinois are in a league of their own. Their parents describe these beautiful dogs as never getting tired. So, besides hours of aerobic exercise daily, these smart pups also need plenty of mental enrichment to quiet their minds.
- Besides walks, having designated play dates for these dogs to disburse energy can be beneficial. This is especially important to begin when they’re young so that they learn social skills.
- Learning and practicing new tricks and commands can also help use some energy. These dogs do very well when they have an assigned job, which can help to give them a purpose.
- Puzzle games and other sensory activities are also essential tools for dogs with this level of spirit and intellect.

I know mine would love tearing it up, but I’d be terrified somebody would swallow that $10k staple.” That’s a good point, but perhaps they can be made using nontoxic glue or tape.
