Dogs really are the coolest. They're able to communicate feelings with just their facial expressions and body language. Just ask Echo the Golden Retriever, whose talent for making different faces is unparalleled. He deserves all the awards for doing them on command!

The recent TikTok video posted by @echogoldenbear reveals the many faces of Echo, and they're priceless! Take a look!

The 14-second clip of pure comedy shows the talented Golden showing off his different moods based on Mom's commands. He begins with his "happy face," appearing to smile adorably, then his "sad face" where he lays his head on the floor and looks like he's lost his favorite stuffie.

Mom's next call is for "mad face," and it's so cute it's hard to take him seriously. He is known as "World's Grumpiest Golden Retriever" on social media, so this is probably the look he's perfected over time!

His "surprised face" and toothy "silly face" are both spot-on, showing us why he has more than 100,000 followers waiting to see what he does next.

Of the hundreds of comments about Echo's mood faces, it's clearā€”everyone loves this Golden's sass and intellect.

"He needs work on being mad because all I see is cute," one person wrote. "I canā€™t choose. I like them all too much. Little handsome boy," another said. "He understood the assignment," another added.

Now that he's nailed these moods, he should look into acting!

What Your Dog's Expression Really Means

Echo's definitely got the performance down when it comes to acting out Mom's commands, but animal behaviorist Nicholas Dodman told Reader's Digest that dog facial expressions aren't always what they seem.

Of the most commonly seen expressions , "whale eye" seems to be misunderstood by first-time dog parents. Dodman explains seeing the whites of their eyes in this sad-looking way indicates "aĀ sign of fear, apprehension, or worry." That means you should back off whatever you're doing to cause them to do this.

On the flip side, nose wrinkling and a raised lip like Echo's "mad face" actually can mean "mad" or aggression, while retracting their lips "horizontally" is a sign of submission. Dodman noted that the smile tells you a lot about your dog's mood if you're paying attention. If their mouth is open, hanging loosely, they're relaxed. This is considered a smile and means they're happy!

Echo's the perfect example of the different expressions dogs can omit at any given time. And, if they're able to perform these on command, they really do deserve all the treats because that's quite the talent.
