Pets sometimes have the cutest interests. It could be all about a particular type of stuffie one week or an affinity for collecting dirty socks the next. For Pearl the Golden Retriever, it's watching shows about cats, and thankfully, Mom got her reaction on camera.

The TikTok video posted to her account, @pearlthegoldenpup , Pearl is uninterested in anything other than her cats show. In fact, do not interrupt unless it's about cats, please and thank you! Check her out!

"If you’re looking for something new to watch, Pearl recommends Inside the Mind of a Cat on @Netflix ," the caption reads. The nine-second clip shows Pearl concentrating hard on her show, which is playing on an iPad.

"When your dog loves cats so much, she watches entire shows about them," the video says as the Golden lays her head on a pillow. The camera then pans from behind Pearl to see the cats on the screen while Pearl is focused on their every move. It's too funny, and people love how she's so into this show!

"The intent focus," one person wrote. "Goldens are just the best!!!!" another said. "She needs a brother cat," another added, to which Pearl's Mom replied, "She desperately wants one!"

What Dog Breeds Get Along with Cats Best?

While Pearl and sister Violet may love their cat documentaries on the small screen, other dogs prefer having a real-life feline companion. In fact, the American Kennel Club says there are specific breeds known for being good with cats, and of course, Golden Retrievers are on that list! This is because of their playful nature, which makes them adaptable.

Other breeds that are potentially great with care are:

    • Basset Hounds
    • Beagles
    • Bulldogs
    • Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
    • Collies
    • Labrador Retrievers
    • Papillons
    • Pugs

The site adds that it's important to pay attention to the breed group because some types of dogs are genetically predisposed to chase, hunt, or kill prey. Groups like Terriers and Sighthounds aren't typical companions to cats, while those in the herding group, like Corgis or Shepherds, are known for corralling smaller animals (and bigger ones, too!). That said, stick with Sporting and Toy Groups for the most variety.

Keep in mind that these are sweeping generalizations, and your dog's temperament, training, and socialization are what play a bigger part than breed. If you're thinking of getting a cat and you already have a dog, be sure to introduce them slowly .

A cat-obsessed Golden like Pearl might love watching kitties on TV, but in real life, it could be another story. Still, her interest in the show is pretty darn cute!
