Funny Husky Sends 'Lovesick Morning Howls' to Ladies a Few Miles Away

Dogs can't speak English, but if you're a parent to one or spend a lot of time around them, you already know that they have no trouble finding their own way to communicate with humans despite the language barrier. The most obvious way they "talk" is with their barks and the other sounds they make. They can easily convey when they want our attention, when they're sad, or when they've sensed that an intruder (likely the mail truck) is coming close to their house.

But some dog breeds are certainly more vocal than others, and if you spend enough time online, you'll find that these vocalizations can be very unique. Some dogs sound like they're singing, while others can sound like... they're searching for their next romantic partner? Apparently, one Husky likes to send out howls in the hopes of attracting a mate.

On Monday, August 12, dog mom Cecilia Blomdahl shared this video of her Husky pup , Grim, sitting outside of the porch at their home on the island of Svalbard, which is located near the North Pole, while she enjoyed her morning coffee. Their surroundings are gorgeous, but they are a bit remote, and to Grim, they're missing something big: His next girlfriend.

"Grim's lovesick morning howls to the Huskies a few miles away," his mom wrote on the video.

This sweetheart is just howling away, making some of the loneliest sounds I've ever heard from a dog. Someone get this guy a friend!

No word on whether or not Grim's howls worked on the other dogs, but it definitely worked on the humans in the comments on the post, who said that they would have come running if they heard him yelling. One person wrote, "I know Iā€™m not the right type of lady, but Iā€™m on my way, Grim!"

    Do Huskies Have Mating Calls?

While many animals do, indeed, use their vocalizations to find a mate, it's less common for dogs, though it certainly can happen!

However, Huskies do use their voices to communicate all kinds of things, and many of them are very happy to make as many sounds as they can manage (as parents to dogs belonging of this breed probably are well aware of).

According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), Huskies' vocalizations are so loud that they can use them to call to their pack, even if they happen to be very far away, since the sound will carry.

They will also use their voices to show you how they're feeling... like crying and whining when you're making them do something they really don't want to do. Conversely, they'll use happier sounding barks and noises to chat with you when they're happy.

Grim is just letting the world know he's here in case anyone needs a friend. And, uh, hopefully, nobody nearby was sleeping.
