A Great Dane couldn't hide her feelings if she tried after meeting her newborn human sister for the first time, and her eyes said it all.
On August 3, 2024, TikTok user Greta the Great (@greta_the_great_) shared a video of the first time Greta met her human sibling, and it's so touching. Take a look!
In a quick 13-second video , we meet Greta, a beautiful Great Dane , and her newborn sister. And it's so easy to see that Greta is absolutely smitten.

"The instant bond these two shared was incredible to watch. Greta has been the most gentle, loving big sister," the text on the screen reads. "I can't get over the love in her eyes."
In the clip, a parent is holding a brand new baby in their arms, cradling their neck and gently holding their face up so Greta can get a good look at her new little sibling.
All you have to do is look at Greta's eyes and see this sweet dog has fallen in love. She's got those smitten eyes for her new little sibling.
"This always makes me cry," the video's caption reads. And in the comments, people really felt the love coming from Greta's eyes too.

In a previous video , Greta's parents shared how they helped prep Greta for when they brought their newborn home.
"When we first had our son, we were worried about how Greta would do with him," the text read. "We brought home a blanket so she could get used to his smell."
And it's unclear if that's what worked or if it's just because Greta knew the baby while her mom was pregnant. But what is clear is that Greta is fully in love.
Do Great Danes Make Good Family Dogs?
According to Hill's , these dogs tend to be good with children. "Great Danes are considered gentle giants. They are moderately playful, affectionate and good with children. They will guard their home," they explain.
"Great Danes generally get along with other animals, particularly if raised with them, but some individuals in the breed can be aggressive with dogs they do not know."
