Funny Dachshund Protests Mom Making the Bed in the Cutest Possible Way

All dogs (and their humans) have their own bedtime routines, but for many of us, that means snuggling up in bed together. It doesn't matter how many beds I have bought my dog over the years, she will always prefer to sleep in bed — and always on my side, settling in right after she gives my husband a look filled with attitude for not giving her more space to spread out. I wouldn't have it any other way, and neither would my dog. She might be cool with hanging out in her dog bed in the living room all evening long, but she's the first one up the stairs when she realizes the time to sleep has come.

She's not the only pup out there who takes the human bed very seriously, and that includes the little one in this video. It might be time for him and his mom to start their day, but he's going to put up a fight first!

On Wednesday, August 14, @wildwireweeniehank shared this video of what happens when her Dachshund pup , Hank, discovers that she's making the bed without his permission. He is not into it!

Despite the fact that she's clearly trying to pull up the sheets and the comforter, this dog will not be thwarted. Hank is ready to run around, jump, and even end up tangled in the covers before he is willing to let her make the bed. Maybe he's just tired... and honestly, can anyone blame him? It's hard to get up in the morning and start your day, whether you're a human or dog.

Maybe his mom should just take this as a sign to go back to bed? Hank might be onto something here.

    Dogs Sleeping in Human Beds

Everyone has their own boundaries and routines with their pets — some dog parents are happy to share their beds with their dogs, but others draw a hard line, whatever the reason might be. And there are, of course, plenty of valid reasons for that... they do make dog beds for a reason, and dogs are famous for being total bed hogs!

But if the reason your dog doesn't sleep in bed with you is because you're worried it's going to have negative effects on your dog, don't be. As The Wildest points out, there's no evidence that sharing a bed leads to increased separation anxiety in dogs.

If your dog is sleeping comfortably in bed with you and you're happy to have them there, there's no downside — in fact, it will probably strengthen their bond with you and, if that's where they're most comfortable, help them get the kind of rest that can only positively impact their health.

But no matter what, the time does come to get up...even if certain Dachshunds out there want to deny it!
