Golden Globe, Screen Actor's Guild, and Prime Time Emmy award winner Ayo Edebiri of The Bear, despite being amazingly gorgeous and talented, actually sounds like a lot of us dog parents out there.

Meaning she has created an absolutely ridiculous backstory for her Chihuahua named Gromit. Stars! They're just like us!

In the Vogue special digital edition of Dogue , all about celebrity dogs, Edebiri had this to say about her Chihuahua Gromit. Who isn't actually a dog at all.

The actor, writer and comedian said, when asked what the most human thing Gromit does, was to reply, "His freakish sense of sentience is probably the most human thing about him. Gromit is not a dog —Gromit is a nervous, gay, divorced entertainment lawyer who was turned into a dog by a former client of his who discovered he was skimming a bit off the top, and he wasn’t aware she was a witch."

See! Her dog isn't actually a dog at all! He's a nervous gay divorced entertainment lawyer! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has made up truly bizarre but actually completely factual backstories for all my pets. It makes perfect sense to me. My cat Meatball isn't actually a cat, he's an off duty cop who is working so hard to stop every crime perpetrated in my house by the other animals, like when someone sits in a place that doesn't belong to them .

If this didn't make you absolutely adore chef Sydney Adamu even more than you all ready did, read on.

What Else Ayo Edebiri Said About 'Gromit'

In the same interview Edebiri, who was speaking as her dog Gromit, was asked "What's your strangest habit?" 'Gromit" responded, "I sit, and I think. I think about so many things it would blow your mind. Sometimes Ayo is like, “Are you thinking?” and I am, I fully am. But it’s not just about grass and squirrels and the urine of other dogs that I’ve smelled—it’s about the idea of God and theoretical physics and the urine of other dogs that I’ve smelled. I can also read, write, and speak perfect English, but I pretend not to."

It should also be noted that Edebiri has written for TV shows like Big Mouth and What We Do In The Shadows which helps explain how amazingly funny she is. Gromit sure is lucky to have her as a dog mom!
