Story of 'Starbucks Kitty' Rescued From Drive-Thru Line Has People So Touched

Many people choose to adopt cats from shelters and rescue organizations, but for some, their cats come into their lives by total chance. Sometimes, an animal will come into our lives when we least expect it and change everything. Stray cats are everywhere, after all, and you may just end up finding one (or many) hanging out in the parking lot of a store or restaurant... or, in the case of the cat below, a drive thru.

One man is telling the story of how he found a very sick kitty in the drive thru of Starbucks and was able to nurse her back to health, and the story of their friendship is so touching. If he hadn't been there when he was, there's no telling how much sadder this cat's story would be.

In this video shared by David Loop on TikTok on Thursday, August 15, we can see what happened the day that he found a cat in the drive thru line. In his caption, he wrote that she was on "the brink of death," and just looking at her, that certainly seems true — she seemed to be lethargic and dehydrated just lying there, helpless.

Fortunately, David was there with a crate (and protection for his arms in case she scratched him). Though she fought him at first, eventually, he was able to get the kitty into the crate, and once she was able to get vet care, they discovered that she has an autoimmune disease.

"I nursed her back to health and we developed an incredible bond together," he wrote.

The clip at the end of the video shows just how much the cat — who he named Zoey — has really changed since he found her. Letting him rock her in his arms like a baby... there aren't a lot of cats out there who will allow that!

In earlier videos, David shared more of Zoey's story, right from day one. Since he works at a rescue organization called Sierra Pacific Furbabies , he really was the perfect person to help Zoey that day. She lucked out!

Here, we can see more of his drive-thru rescue mission , which makes it more obvious what bad shape Zoey was in; at that point, she could barely hold her head up.

He took her to the emergency vet, where she received multiple blood transfusions, and he had to syringe feed her for awhile to make sure that she was getting enough to eat as she recovered from her illness.

She was very weak at first, but Zoey has made so many improvements since then — and it's clear that she is so loved.
