Terrified Terrier's Transformation From 'Garbanzo Bean' to 'Espresso Bean' Shows the Power of Rescue

It's heartbreaking to think about how many dogs end up with a very sad start to life, but it's reality. Not all pups go from their mother to a loving forever home at eight weeks old — for many, the journey looks a lot different. This is just one of the many reasons why adopting rescue dogs is such an incredible thing to do, since it means that you can truly change the life of an animal who may never have gotten to have the things that many dogs get as a given (like a full belly, safety, and lots of cuddles every day).

And going from not having those things to being able to enjoy them fully means that the transformation many rescue dogs have is really an incredible thing to witness,  just like the one that's happening in the video below.

On Monday, August 13, the account Strays and Gays shared a video of the sweetest Terrier pup they were able to rescue from living on the street. They named him Garbanzo Bean and described him as "scared and pitiful," but that side of his personality didn't last very long!

Once he was safe with humans he knew he could trust, Garbanzo Bean quickly became an espresso ban — full of energy and jumping all over the place!

In a comment, the poster said that this little guy is the "most hype" dog they've ever rescued, and after seeing this footage, I believe it. He's so happy now that he has the freedom to play with toys and run around without stressing about his own survival.

Commenters took notice of that too, and one person wrote, "There’s nothing like watching a rescue dog come out of their scared shell over time. It’s just wonderful."

He might not be able to express it in words, but Garbanzo Bean is definitely very grateful that he was saved.

    More About Strays and Gays

The people who took in this Terrier aren't an official rescue organization — they describe themselves as "two people helping dogs" in their south Georgia community.

However, it's clear that they're already doing a lot of good, even beyond just this one rescue. With more than 38k followers on TikTok, they're getting the word out about adoptable dogs, and they've already found permanent families for so many dogs who may have otherwise been homeless.

If you're interested in one of the dogs they share on their page, they are willing to transport the dogs for free anywhere along the East Coast. You can fill out an adoption form here .

Whoever ends up being this Terrier's parents are certainly very lucky. He's going to bring his new family so much joy!
