Mom Tries to Give Doodle a DIY Spa Day & the Cutest Chaos Ensues

As pet parents know, things don’t always go as planned. No matter how hard we try to predict potential problems, they sometimes arise without our control. Even though they may not be ideal, they can be seen as an opportunity to laugh.

In contrast to the videos we often see of the perfect bath routine, this one hit a few snags. But that only makes it even more charming.

Check out this darling rescue Doodle's bath time mishap in a video shared on July 29:

The bath started perfectly, with Mom receiving gentle kisses from sweet Noa (@ noatherescuedoodle ). However, the serenity didn’t last long, as the hose soon broke. While Mom tried to fix the technical issue, Noa took it as a sign to get out of the tub. Smart girl! Thankfully, Mom had her back in quickly, and she seemed to enjoy getting massaged as she was soaped up. It was even better when she was offered a treat for being such a good girl. But when it was rinsing time, another opportunity for her to escape presented itself, and she took it. Once again, Mom caught and returned her to the tub, but they had to use the shower because of the broken hose. By the time it was over, Mom was soaked, too, but she could finish knowing she persevered!

Ways to Make Dog Baths Easier

    • First, introduce them to the area without water. Having them get in and out and providing treats and praise can foster a positive association with this location.

    • Give them lots of praise and additional treats during the bath to keep them engaged.

    • Keep your spirits high, and try to make it as fun as possible. I have an allergy-prone dog who needs twice-weekly medicated baths , and although it’s hard, we always do our best to have a good time!

    • Give them a special reward when it’s over. Just like Noa received peanut butter for being such a good sport, giving our dogs a special treat can help make these experiences more manageable.

People applauded this mom’s efforts. One person responded, “Improvise! Nice going, Mom.” Yes, indeed! Viewer @myalfiedoodle remarked, “Anything is expected during a bath, and you are both champs in this one.” That’s so true! Viewer @bunny_and__teddy responded, “What a wonderful fur baby mamma you are!” That she is!

The one lesson we can all take from this bath time experience is to ensure we shut the door when bathing our pups at home, as this wise mom did. I only had to make this mistake once to learn that chasing a wet dog through the house is not a good time for anyone.
