We all know animals are living the dream, right? They don't have to go to work, they don't have to figure out their meals, they don't have to pay taxes just for existing. You'd think they have it pretty good, right? According to one pup, the dog life is just so hard.

Why? Because her mom didn't complete the pair's typical morning routine. What is this poor senior dog going to do without her morning cuddles? In her eyes, this is a tragedy.

It's no surprise that some rescue dogs can't get enough cuddle time. More than likely, they didn't get a ton of that special time before they came to their new forever home, so of course, they look forward to it every day!

This dog mom, known as @jenunhinged on TikTok, forgot to give her sweet senior rescue pup her regular morning hugs, and immediately, she was punished for her sins.

While still hiding under the blanket, this sweet dog instantly started whining and moaning for her owner to come back. You would've thought she just heard the worst news in the world!

Obviously, this mom immediately came back to her side to give her the regularly-scheduled morning hugs, but whew that was a close one.

She says her pup must be spoiled but to us, that's way better than her feeling abandoned.

3 Tips for Adopting a Senior Rescue Dog

Taking in an older pup is one of the most heartwarming things a person can do, but it's not always an easy path. Here are some things to remember when adopting a senior rescue .

    1. Patience

Some rescue dogs might not want to be super affectionate right away. Some might even be super opposed to the idea. Don't take it personally, and just take your time working with them. Giving them treats and soft pets are the best tactics to earn a dog's heart.

    2. Space

You wouldn't want someone all up in your face when you move somewhere new! Make sure your pup has everything they need in a quiet and cozy section of your house. They will love having a haven to run to when things get overwhelming.

    3. Quality Time

Most importantly, spend time with your new old pup. That's the best way to earn their trust and get them to feel extra comfortable around you. Soon, they'll get used to having you around!
