Some dogs are absolute sweethearts who'll go out of their way to be kind to someone, or something, in need. This explains Petey the Pit Bull perfectly. The pup recently helped a Dragonfly in need, and it's seriously the sweetest act caught on camera.
In an August 14 TikTok video shared by Paws Place Dog Rescue ( @pawsplacetok ), Petey comes to the aid of the Dragonfly, proving nice guys finish first. Watch the little cutie below!
"Petey is so gentle and caring," the caption begins. "He spent his play time trying to save a dragonfly from the pool. Maybe we should add 'insect friendly' to his kennel description??"
The video shows the very good boy oh-so-delicately fishing out a drowning Dragonfly from a plastic kiddie pool. With his lips barely pressing down, he carries the fly to the ground and checks for vitals. It's further proof dogs are angels on earth and the internet fully agrees.
"A sweet angel boy," one person wrote. "Petey has a heart of gold," another added. "Not all heroes wear capes," one person said, to which the rescue replied, "Some have 3 legs and a wagging tail."
Petey's selfless act is a good example of why dogs make life better!

Sweet Petey Is Up for Adoption
If you've fallen in love with compassionate Petey, Paws Place Dog Rescue says he's still up for adoption ! The organization is located in Winnabow, North Carolina and they have plenty of good things to say about the 33 pound Pittie.
The "affectionate, curious, typical puppy," is looking for a family with "an active lifestyle. Currently, he's one of two tripod canines looking for homes, meaning he has three legs. But that doesn't stop him from being a "loving, playful, goofy, puppy who is ready for anything and everything!" the site says.
This sweetheart is just 7 months old, so he's ready for all the fun training and adventures with a forever family. You can tell by the video he's gentle-natured with other living things and just exudes pure love.
Pit Bulls in general get such a bad rap, which is why videos like Petey's are so important because they show their true personalities shining through! They're just as amazing as any other pup and they deserve to be adopted into loving homes, too.
