A funny French Bulldog has a very "unique" superpower that is really cool for everyone except his mom when she wants a quick snack.

On August 16, 2024, TikTok user Marvel & Ellen (@marvellen) shared a video of the Bulldog's amazing trick, and it's actually really funny. Take a look.

In a quick video , we meet Ellen and her French Bulldog named Marvel who has a superhero trick.

"Testing my dog's banana-detecting senses," the text on the screen reads. And in the clip Ellen hides by sitting on the kitchen floor in a corner where her dog won't be able to see her.

Marvel is lying on the floor in a completely different room, and he looks like he's about to fall asleep.

Ellen tries to peel the banana quietly so as not to alert Marvel. She pops the top of the banana really slowly and keeps an eye out for Marvel, who might hear her and try to steal her snack.

It looks like she's in the clear at first until she starts to quietly pull down the peel. But she doesn't get too far until Marvel hears and finds exactly where she is. He insists Mom share her snack with him and now even though she went through extra steps to not have to share her snack, Marvel's superpower got in the way.

"When your dog’s superpower is hearing bananas peel," the video's caption reads. And in the comments, people had a lot to say.

One wrote, "Freeze! Inspector Marvel has questions."

Another, "Hmmmm. Was it his ears or his nose that gave it away?!?! My Frenchie is just nosey. It could be that he is wondering what Mom is up to."

Someone else said, "They definitely always know when food is involved."

One person wrote, "They know; they just always know haha."

Another joked, "Marvel said yup, mom opened a snack."

One shared, "Awww, my baby loves bananas, also."

Can Dogs Eat Bananas (and Other Fruits)?

According to the American Kennel Club , many fruits are safe for dogs to eat, but some should be avoided .

When it comes to bananas, it's on the good list. "Yes, dogs can eat bananas," the club assures. "In moderation, bananas are a great low-calorie treat for dogs. They’re high in potassium, vitamins, biotin, fiber, and copper. They are low in cholesterol and sodium, but because of their high sugar content, bananas should be given as a treat, not part of your dog’s main diet."

According to the American Kennel Club, other fruits that are safe for dogs to eat in moderation include blueberries, cantaloupe, cranberries, cucumbers, mango, watermelon, oranges, peaches, strawberries, pears, raspberries, pineapple, and pumpkins.

According to the American Kennel Club, tomatoes, specifically the green parts, are unsafe for dogs to eat, but "it’s better to skip tomatoes altogether just to be safe." Grapes, including raisins, are also unsafe and can be very toxic. Cherries should be avoided, and so should avocados.
