Dog Who Was Raised by Cats Acts Just Like Them and It's Perfect

My dog has never lived with another dog, but she has always lived with two cats. We adopted her as an eight week old puppy, and though one of my cats is absolutely not a dog person, the other one immediately took her in as her own. They're been inseparable ever since, and I've definitely noticed that she has picked up certain habits from the cats. For example, every afternoon, she stretches out on the same step, right below the cat, and takes a nap right exactly where the sun hits. You can't tell me that's not cat behavior!

But the pup in this video? After being raised by cats, I'm pretty sure that he is one. Based on the clips we see here, it's not just that he wants to be like his cats... it's that he's decided that actually, he is one.

On Tuesday, August 13, @furry5fam shared the cutest video of their dog growing up surrounded by cats... and he was most definitely paying attention to his older kitty siblings, because he's turned out to be just like them.

From the way he loves to play with anything that's hanging, like fringe on a blanket, to the way he perches in the loaf formation on the couch to look out the window, this is the most cat-like dog I have ever seen — and the cats in his life truly do seem to have accepted them as one of their own.

He and the cats even cuddle up with each other the same way that cats do with other cats, and if it was possible for him to meow and purr, I have a feeling he'd be doing that, too.

This is a mutual love, and even if he may have picked up a lot of cat traits, this sweet dog is too cute.

Can Dogs Really Pick Up Behaviors From Cats?

If the video wasn't enough to convince you, the answer to that question is yes — just like humans, dogs will adopt habits and be influenced by those surrounding them.

As Wag pointed out, if your dog spends all of their time around cats, that's what they'll emulate ... but if they've never met a cat before in their lives, they won't just act like a cat on their own.

Some dog parents even try to train their dogs to act like cats, including but not limited to training them to use a litter box.

There's nothing wrong with a dog who acts like a cat, as long as all the pets in question are properly socialized and are safe. Who knows? One day, maybe all the cat loving dogs out there will learn how to meow, too.
