Going outside for fresh air can put a little pep in your step. Just ask Louie the Goldendoodle who loves his walks outside so much, he does a cute dance and honestly, same!

In the August 14, 2024 TikTok clip posted by @louiedoodie , the happy pup dances like nobody's watching, and it's infectious! Check him out!

The 6-second video shows the Goldendoodle walking on the grass alongside a sidewalk for his usual potty break. With each step, he flings up his paws up and shakes his behind like he's competing for highest kicks in a dance competition. And with that, a little grass and dirt toss in the air like confetti to celebrate this joyous day!

"We dance on our walks," the video says and clearly this is something Louie does on a regular basis—he's a natural!

Louie's incredible moves are just now taking off on the internet with a few of his fans giving their full support.

"Love the moves my furrend!" one person wrote. "Cutie pie," another said, while another simply added, "Awwww."

Maybe these are the moves Louie will take to the Dancing With the Stars stage where he's sure to win the Mirrorball trophy—and we all get a sneak peak! How lucky is that?!

Why Dogs Kick Grass on Potty Breaks

While it does look like Louie's dancing on his walk, there's actually a reason pretty much all dogs do these moves on their potty breaks . According to the American Kennel Club, dogs kick grass to communicate.

The action goes back quite a ways in their lineage when they had to scare off prey to survive. Basically, they're telling other dogs who the boss is for their own protection and it all goes through their cute little paw pads.

When they kick up the dirt, they're marking their territory through a chemical reaction released through glands in their paws. The pheromones stay on the feet longer than other scents, which is why they're so into digging or kicking at the ground—they're communicating by leaving their special scent for other dogs to find. Sometimes, it's meant to be territorial, but in other instances, it shows them there isn't a threat nearby.

It's all pretty cool once you understand what's going on. So the next time your dog does a kick-tastic little dance like Louie, just know they're trying to send all the other pups out there a message!
