Yellow Labrador Jumps on Dad in the Pool and the POV is Hilarious

If you buy a dog breed that loves to swim and you also have a pool, that is your fault. You are then responsible for the water shenanigans that happen. That's fine, but you'd better come to terms with it quickly.

Recently, one dog dad was taking advantage of the warm summer weather and night-swimming with his friends when his Labrador Retriever decided to join in on the fun. Her idea of fun might be slightly different from theirs, though...

Very unfortunately for us, @extracrispynyc doesn't have any other videos of Ella on his page. We need more of her!

There isn't much information about Ella at all; her dad's page is mostly dedicated to his skateboarding tricks (which are pretty cool). What we do know is that she's a beautiful Yellow Labrador Retriever, she loves to swim (and sit on people in the pool ), she has a hard time with the word no , and she's a star.

This video has been viewed almost 44 million times and amassed a total of 8.8 million likes. Everybody is just smitten with Ella and her unwillingness to let her dad stop her from doing what she loves! Even though it looks like it could be scary, everyone in this video was fine, including the jumping queen. Something tells me this was not the last time that night that she did that.

How to Keep Dogs Safe in the Swimming Pool

Ella was totally fine when this video was taken, and so was everyone in the pool, but that's because they were being pretty safe. Ella was supervised by two adults (though, only one when the other was under water...).

If you have a dog that loves water and wants to swim, it's a skill you can feel good about encouraging. At the same time, you should follow a few rules to keep everybody safe :

    1. Only let them in the pool if you're there to supervise.
    2. When your pool is not in-use, it need to be locked behind a dog-safe fence or covered.
    3. Have regular swimming lessons in the pool so they can hone their skills.
    4. Until they're comfortable, they should be wearing a life jacket.
    5. Only let them swim for about 30 minutes at a time, and give them a bath when they finish.
    6. Take them out of the pool if they start to struggle to breathe, if they're inhaling or ingesting pool water, or if they're getting tired.

Not only are you going to want to bathe them after; you should make sure you're drying them off thoroughly after that bath and taking extra care to get all of the water out of their ears. Ear infections are no fun!
