Some dogs have grace while others, not so much. Lavelle the English Bulldog landed in the latter category after a comedy-like spill from the couch had him rethinking his life choices.

In the August 17 TikTok clip shared by @lavelle_maslow , Lavelle's humility is put to the test when he can't stick his landing while Mom's watching. Wait until you see his reaction when he realizes Mom saw him fall!

The hilarious video says, "The way he looked back to see if I saw him biff it." Lavelle, who's standing with his paws up on the couch, tries to turn and walk away from Mom when he loses his footing.

The pup disgracefully rolls around the floor to try and get back up, though he appears to be a little embarrassed, turning to see if Mom caught the incident (she did). He walks away but looks back once more to catch her reaction and honestly, I'd be so embarrassed, too!

"I'm not laughing with you...I'm laughing AT you," the caption reads. Meanwhile, some of Lavelle's fans chimed in to show support.

"Seeing if you laughing at him," one person wrote. "Poor baby," another said. "I see that, too," another added.

The English Bulldog is a regular comedian who knows how to give Mom a laugh, so we know he won't let this little incident keep him down and out for long!

    Can Dogs Feel Embarrassed?

When a dog does something cringy, it seems like they recognize the cringe and feel some kind of way about it. However, Dr. Terri Bright, Director of Behavior Services in the Behavior Department at MSPCA/Angell told PetMD that determining if a dog can feel embarrassment has to do with the way we interpret their body language cues.

“For a dog to feel embarrassment, they would need to possess an overall sense of social norms and morals, which they don’t have the same way humans do,” explainss Bright.

He added that, because dogs can't exactly say how they're feeling, we're the ones who decide their emotion based on body language. The problem is, some dogs have learned signals (like yawning and head-turning) that makes it appear they're embarrassed when it's not actually that.

The bottom line is that they have a different way of communicating than humans, so we're not at a point of being able to label them properly just yet. That said, Lavelle looked pretty mortified after his clumsy fall, making him all the more adorable and relatable!
