I can say without hesitation that my four year old daughter's best friend in the world is our dog, and I am confident that the feeling has been mutual since the day we brought her home from the hospital (the kid, not the dog). These two have always been inseparable, and the older my daughter gets, the more they become partners in crime. However, not all babies catch onto how much their dogs love them on day one, but when they finally do figure it out, it's nothing short of magical.
One dog and human mom got to witness that magic firsthand when, after a year of her pup showering her baby with love and attention, her little one learned how to show her that love back. Warning: This might be the cutest thing you'll see all day!
On Monday, August 19, @airbudkobe shared this adorable video of their Golden Retriever , whose name of Kobe, and their daughter, who is now more than a year old.
As we can see in the clips here, since she was a newborn, Kobe has been giving his baby sister sweet doggie smooches, and it only continued as she grew, transforming from a baby into a toddler. There's just one problem: She hadn't figured out how to kiss back! So while she looks happy to be showered with all of Kobe's love in these kisses, poor Kobe isn't getting any kisses himself.
(And with a face as cute as his, he most definitely deserves them).
But at the end of the video, we see that his baby sister finally figured out how to kiss him, and boy does Kobe look like he's in his glory being on the receiving end of the kisses for once. This is too sweet!

It's truly no wonder that this adorable dog has nearly 700,000 followers on TikTok — people have loved watching the bond between him and his baby grow over the past year.
In July 2023, Kobe's mom shared the footage of him meeting his baby sister for the very first time, and it truly was love at first sight. Though babies definitely aren't every dog's favorite thing, Kobe somehow knew right away that this was going to be a very special person in his life. Even when she was in her bassinet napping, he didn't want to leave her side.
Now, the baby is finally starting to get big enough so that they can have fun together, and the videos on their TikTok account have only gotten cuter. Can we talk about the big smiles this baby gets when her dog is nearby, like in this video ?!
